We at KT are always ready to provide the best to our customers. In an effort to save your
time and effort, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions and our responses.
General
Approval will take five working days if you submit your application at KT headquarters. Applications submitted at branches will take an additional two working days.
For retirees, there are three options for monthly repayments.
Set up a standing instruction with your bank - Complete the form provided by your
bank, affix an RM10 stamp duty, and send it to the cooperative. The cooperative will
then complete the amount to be debited and submit the form to the bank.
Make periodic cash payments - Visit any cooperative counter and make advance
cash payments.
Direct bank transfer - Pay directly into the cooperative's bank account and fax the
receipt.
A guarantor shares the same responsibilities as a borrower in banking. They vouch for the borrower's character and have a legal obligation to repay if the borrower defaults.
Our meticulous review process, aligned with Bank Negara Malaysia's guidelines, may impact most applications' processing times and customer response.

There could be various reasons for this:
i. Typing errors in the request order;
ii. Delayed response from the mobile telecommunication operator or
iii. Need more credit balance.
Since August 1, 2017, our new KT Customer Care Call Centre has delivered topnotch service with advanced technology and skilled staff for promptly and professionally handling inquiries and complaints.
Membership
Members can check their savings account balance via SMS by sending 'KT BAKI [TENTERA/IC NUMBER]' to 33310, or by calling Customer Care at 03-2303 0000, or accessing KT Online.
To register a mobile phone number, members must fill out the Information Update Form or contact KT Customer Care.
Members can check their account balance via SMS: Send 'KT BAKI [ARMY NUMBER/IC]' to 33310.
- Members can check their total dividend via SMS by typing ‘KT DIV NO TENTERA/ IC KE 33310’

Dividend calculation: 10% based on members' above-average monthly contributions, averaged according to membership period during the financial year.
*Dividend amount review is available only on a specified date after the announcement.
- Submit the following to Unit Keanggotaan:
- Letter of resignation
- Photocopy of Identity Card
- Account Number
- Bank Account Verification
- The application was presented for approval at the Management Meeting/ ALK.
- Payment is disbursed six months after termination unless advance payment is applied.
Members must provide a military number as a reference for checking in the TCS Bancs system.
- Update the latest phone number with KT.
- A review is possible through Maxis, Celcom, Digi, and U-Mobile lines.
- Ensure the original line is used and not switched to another telecommunications line.
- Access account balance through the KT Online platform.
Financing
Please expect a processing time of 5 to 7 working days for complete applications undergoing payment processing at our Headquarters.

- A guarantor assumes equivalent obligations to the borrower for making repayments and is accountable in the event that the borrower defaults.

Ar-Rahnu
Ar-Rahnu KT is a Shariah-compliant financing solution. Eligible customers can apply for funding by pledging a certain amount of gold or jewelry (gold category) to Ar-Rahnu KT.
There are two products on offer:
- Ar-Rahnu Prihatin
- Ar-Rahnu Prima
Blending the principles of Shariah, we combine the concepts of Ar Rahnu, Tawarruq, Al Wadiah and Profit rate.
Ar Rahnu: To make an asset as collateral/guarantee to the financing.
Tawarruq concept: Sale and purchase of assets with deferred payment, followed by resale for cash
Al Wadiah: Secure storage of valuables with guaranteed safety.
Profit rate: Charged based on the actual collateralized gold value

The pawning period offered is one (1) year, with the condition that the mortgagor make a profit-rate payment for the first six (6) months of the mortgage period. If no payment is made, the auction may continue after giving adequate notice.

Owners can make financing payments in installments or all at once.
Pay the Financing amount including all charges applied to Pawning customer and Profit Rate on the payment date set in the contract.

Yes, we will.
- Notice 1: Sent 30 days before the maturity date.
- Notice 2: Sent 15 days before the maturity date.
- Notice 3: Sent 14 days after the maturity date.
- Last Notice: Sent at least 21 days after the maturity date. Please note that charges will apply for these notices, and all correspondence will be sent via post to the registered address.
Failure to redeem within the mortgage leads to a goods auction.
- If you fail to redeem the pledged item within the period prescribed funding, or death or permanent disability occurs or the mortgagor is declared bankrupt, then Ar RahnuKT has the right to execute the auction of the pawned goods in accordance with the procedure of sale or auction.
- Proceeds from the sale or auction will be used to pay the amount owed, the sale or auction costs, and related costs. The rest can be claimed as soon as you receive the auction surplus notice.
- However, if the auction proceeds are not sufficient to cover the costs related and pay the arrears amount, then legal action will be taken against any party involved.

SME
Koperasi Tentera offers Pembiayaan Berjangka – i (PB-i) which is a Shariah-compliant commercial financing facility to finance any projects, contracts and activities related to business dealings specifically for Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and registered cooperatives.
- Minimum RM10,000
- Maximum up to RM1 million
Maximum up to 120 months (10 years)
Subject to customer credit review and approval from Koperasi Tentera.

- Application copy (amount of financing & purpose).
- Copy of I/C of Directors and Shareholders/ Owners/ Partners.
- Actual copy of audited accounts for the last 3 years.
- and latest 6 months bank statements.
- List of other documents listed in the document review form according to the type of financing.
- Koperasi Tentera (KT) reserves the right to charge and claim damages (Ta’widh) from the customers on the actual loss suffered by KT due to the customers being late/ failing to pay an installment, the balance of the sale price or any outstanding payment to KT will be calculated from the date of payment should have been paid untill full payment.
- Ta’widh imposed is at the rate of 1% per annum on the amount of overdue payments that calculated daily.
- Legal action will be taken if the customers fails to comply with the warning notice issued by Koperasi Tentera.
Rebate (Ibra ‘) will be given to the customer based on the current formula stated, in the event of one of the following conditions (but not limited to): –
- The customers makes an early settlement, early redemption or makes an advance payment before the financing maturity date.
- The customers clarifies the original financing due to the implementation of financing restructuring.
- Clarification by the customer in case of default where the Customer defaults, the customer subsequently makes the full payment of the indebtedness under the financing before the maturity date.
- Clarification by the customer due to termination or cancellation of financing before the maturity date.
Yes, customers (sole proprietorship and partnership only) are required to take out a Credit Takaful Plan to cover the amount of indebtedness under the financing provided. Payment can be made by deduction from the amount of financing. Customers are free to use non-panel Takaful services. However, to safeguard the interests of Koperasi Tentera and customers, the appointment of Takaful panels is strongly encouraged.
Yes, guarantees and / or collateral are required by Koperasi Tentera.
If you fail to make the payment and the financing period is extended beyond the original period, a late payment charge of 1% will be charged on the amount due.
